Stonesours new song is GREAT! Its called Through Glass, such a great song. The funny thing is Stonesours lead singer, also sings for Slipknot. These bands sound nothing alike, i prefer Stonesour or Slipknot but Slipknot is alot heavier rock then Stonesour.

The only good rock is classic rock.

Queen, Supertramp, CCR, AC/DC, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, you know old stuff like that. Anything after the 70's is pure crap... with exception to a few things in the 80's. However, stay clear of anything from the 90's and after if you are looking for rock music you can call "good."

Thanks
Well, if you're into Dragonforce, then I would suggest these bands for their power metal aspects:

Stratovarious - Catchy music at times
Symphony X - Michael Romeo, great virtuiso guitarist with metal influences
Dream Theater - Not really true power metal, but James LaBrie can sure hit those high notes!
Iced Earth - Love them. Why? They..sound good..? o.o
Blind Guardian - ALmost operatic vocals.
Nightwish - Tarja, my favourite female vocalist.

Chili Peppers? Well, I can't really find another band that's like them in my album collection. I'll have to let those funky monks go.

Nirvana. Well, it's..grunge.. How much grunge do I know about? I suppose the Stone Temple Pilots are decent. I don't like them that much, but the grunge sound might captivate you.

The Eagles. Classic rock, disco feel in some songs. I can't find anything in my collection either o.o

NOFX. Don't know who they are.

Blink 182. Don't like their brand of "punk".

Black Sabbath. Doom metal. Ahh, doom metal, one of my favourites. The slow, drudgy guitar riffs sludging through time. I would definitely recommend:
Candlemass.
Mourning Beloveth.

And to expand your listening pleasure, progressive rock/metal and jazz/fusion is always welcomed! Some bands to note are:

Opeth - Brilliant songwriting. Instruments all mesh together perfectly. Soft tracks and heavy tracks everywhere.

Agalloch - Progressive Folk metal? My favourite lyrical band, deep and dark ideas. Music definately deserves a stoppage in action just to digest it's perfection.

John McLaughlin - Jazz man. Fast guitarist. Unstoppable.

Paco DiMeola - Mr. Flamenco. How can anyone not like flamenco? ^_^

I know most people won't read this post, seeing that it's just a block of english, but it definitely helped me pass the time. Too much music to list, not enough time.

Emperor

But if you can't handle it :P, try Peeping Tom (ex-Faith no More guy band)

Don't know how your knowledge of Dutch is, but if you like more of the pop/rock oriëntated groups, you can listen to www.kinkfm.com online.

What the hell? "Steer clear of all the 'pop' metal" you say, and then recommend CRADLE OF FILTH, DEFTONES, SLIPKNOT and MURDERDOLLS? How can you sleep at night?

Poseur!

Like we need more mallcore kids.

Also if you can't handle Emperor, you can't handle life. "Ooh, he's growling, what is he saying, I can't understand, why are they beating the drums without rhyth, ooh it's unbearable! Aah!" I lolled.

I apologize in advance.

Emperor owns. Too bad they stopped, although Peccatum wasn't all that bad.

They're coming back soon. Or more precisely, they're playing a gig in Wacken 2006.

It's funny because he points out bands he thinks are 'pop' metal and has bands like Cradle Of Filthy and Velvet Revolver on his list... And to a later phase, metallica.

As much as I love metal, black metal doesn't appeal to me as much, I prefer the "Symphonic Black metal" of Dimmu Borgir, I still love the old school stuff, Like Kill 'em All phase of Metallica, Rust in Peace and Killing is my business of Megadeth (saw them live last year)

Lamb of God are one of my favourite bands, sorta bugs me how they promote themselves as true metal and bringing back thrash but really they are metalcore.

I listen to too many bands and I have such a wide taste in music, although in centralises into metal (along with my clothing etc.) I can listen to a band like Exodus, and then Coldplay. But as of late I've been getting into a lot of punk, to name a few

Dead Kennedys
Black Flag
The Sex Pistols
X-Ray Spex
The Buzzcocks
The Slits

Also Sonic Youth are a great band, I suggest you check them out.

Nothing wrong with that. Call it what you will, IMHO they still kick much ass.

I still like Queensryche quite a bit, too. Poison, Ratt, GnR, et al.

If anyone else likes 'hair metal', check out The Pirate 100.3FM KQLZ out of LA (Los Angeles, not Lion's Arch). Their website is a bit much to look at for a long period of time, but the streaming audio rocks. Pretty much all I listen to at work anymore.

Why, yes, I am a child of the 80's. Why do you ask?
